  Martinique - Country and people

 Martinique is a lush green island, located between St. Lucia in the south and Dominica in the north. The island is mountainous and has some rivers and waterfalls. The volcano Montagne Pelée in the north of the island is with 1397m the highest mountain of Martinique.
 The climate is tropical and the rainy season lasts from June until October. The north of the island is wet with a lush vegetation. In the south the climate is dryer, there are the most touristic areas.
